Martensolasma Shear, 2006  -  Martensolasma jocheni Shear, 2006

Martensolasma jocheni was described from Mexico and differs from other Ortholasmatinae by lacking the characteristic hood process and exhibiting a scutum magnum (fused prosomal and first five opisthosomal tergits; Shear 2006). The overall body habit is almost Nemastoma-like.

Taxonomy and Discussion of Phylogenetic Relationships
An isolated position within the Ortholasmatinae is assumed, based on the micro-structure of the dorsal keel cells and their relative simple pattern, the lack of the characteristic hood and peculiarities of pseudo-segmentation of the legs (Shear 2006).

Ecology and Life History
Records span the known distribution area of the species to almost 500 km, which is unusual given the small distribution areas of other species in the subfamily and might point to introduction (Shear 2010). So far only males are known. Specimens have been collected in gardens and from leaf litter in oak forests.
