Nemaspela Šilhavý, 1966

Nemaspela comprises troglobionts from caves adjacent to the Northern and Eastern border of the Black Sea. Some species exhibit pronounced male cheliceral apophyses, an external feature normally lost in cave adapted Nemastomatidae. Penis morphology is very simple with a pointed stylus. Taken together with the character of the cheliceral glands, it suggests close relationship with other Caucasian groups such as Giljarovia, Caucnemastoma and, probably, Nemastoma (Šilhavý 1966, Martens 2006). Interspecific relationships have not been investigated.
