Taracidae Schönhofer, 2013
Given the previous definitions of families within the superfamily Ischyropsalidoidea, a revision was overdue (Schönhofer 2013). The family Taracidae combines the genera Hesperonemastoma and Taracus, which had been found closely related (Giribet et al. 2010) also sharing morphological features with Crosbycus, that is tentatively included for its proposed relationship with Hesperonemastoma. Family members have long palps set with bottlebrush-shaped hairs and a characteristic coxal composition. The male genital is relatively simple and metapeltidial spines are singular or absent.
